Great news are coming from Russia for travelers, as per the latest reports, Russia and India are holding talks, aiming to introduce a bilateral agreement for easing travel destinations. These agreement may be implementations in June, highlighting a significant step towards strengthening tourism ties between Moscow and New Delhi.

If these implementation comes in reals, that will be great news for Indian travelers who wish to travelling Russia in limited money & resources.

As per latest information by Nikita Kondratyev, Director of the Russian Economic Development Ministry’s Department of Multilateral Economics Cooperation and Special Projects, highlighted India’s progress in internal state coordination, affirming its readiness for the forthcoming agreement in June.

Speaking on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Forum 2024” in Kazan, the Minister informed to reporter that they are discussing the timeline, anticipating that the signing the agreement will likely take place by the year end following the initial discussion in June.  The aim is clear to boost tourism through the facilitation of visa – free group tourist exchanges, enhancing cultural and economic ties between Russia and India.

These agreement highlighting the friendship between Russia and India. By boosting tourism, Russia wants to boom its tourism sector, which is affected recently by Western Countries due to sanction. Western Countries including E.U, UK and U.S has implemented new sanctions on Russia due to war on Ukraine.

Russia has already implemented these types of visa- free tourist exchanges  with China and Iran tells Russian Minister Kondratyev to reporter. Moscow also wants to boom its economy by easing the tourism sector which is actually helps to overcomes from sanction implemented by Western Countries. In the last year 2023, August 1; Russia and China had initiated their visa-free group tourist exchanges and the same date Russia announces similar visa-free agreement with Iran.

Russia’s economy hits due to ongoing war on Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine has been engaging since February 2022, when Russia announces Military Operation on Ukraine.

If we see on recent tourism trends , the Russian capital witnessed a substantial influx of business tourists in 2023, totaling 3.7 millio9n, marketing a 7% increase from the previous year. Indian tourists has been visiting Russia from long time due to favorable conditions of Russia’s environment and its temperature. India stands out among non-CIS Countries for contributing significantly to this surge in business travel. Moreover, the Statistics indicate a noteworthy rise in Indian Visitor to Moscow, with 60,000 recorded in 2023, representing a quarter more than the preceding year. This increase shows tourist potential in Russia. So, Russia wants to boom its economy by visa-free entry agreement with New Delhi. Russia and India are trusted friend since cold – war between United States and Sovient- Union. So, Russian want to these convert these friendship to businesses to lift up its economy.

In February 2024, Tourism Moscow made a mark at the South Asia Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE 2024) exhibition held in Greater Noida, showcasing tourism potentials for Indian travelers in Moscow. A delegation of representatives from Moscow City Tourism Committee and the Made Moscow project team was one of the largest at the event, showing the vibrant tourism offerings of the Russian Capital for Indian tourists.
