Guru Purnima 2024: Rituals

Guru Purnima is celebrated by Indians with so many types of rituals that are vary with the regions. In which some common rituals are given below:

  • Guru Puja: Indian devotees perform a special worship to their gurus by offerings flowers, fruits and some others items as a token of respect and gratitude.
  • Feasting: Some Indian Communities prepare special meals and distributes prasad (sanctified food) to everyone present.
  • Satsang and Bhajans: Many Indian communities performs Satsang and Bhajans in praise of guru.
  • Offering Seva: Some offering Seva (Selfless Service) as mark of devotion. This can include helping in the maintenance of the ashram, cooking food or assisting in the organization of events.
