Patna: Israel’s IDF announces 100 IAF fighter jets stuck and eliminated thousands of Hezbollah (Lebanon based military group) rocket launcher barrels, aimed for immediate fire towards northern and central Israel.
This strike comes after when Hezbollah launched over 150 projectiles from Lebanon toward Israeli territory. According to statement from Hezbollah, an Iran -backed group more than 320 Katyusha rockets were launched, targeting key Israeli military sites.
In rseponse to attack from Lebanon, Israel Defence Forces shared a post on ‘X’ and said that Approx 100 IAF fighter jets struck and eliminated thousands of Hezabollah rocket launcher barrels aimed for immediate fire towards northen and central Israel.
They further stated that more than 40Hezbollah launch areas were struck. We will do whatever is needed to defend our civilians and the state of Israel.
In another post they stated that Hezabollah has just launched over 150 projectiles from Lebanon toward Israeli territory. We target terrorist infrastructure, they target civilians.
According to NDTV reports, This escalation comes after weeks of growing tension, with Hezbollah and its regional ally, Iran, vowing to avenge the assassination of its military commander Fuad Shukr last month. The group has called the attack on its commander as a direct provocation and an act of war.
After the recent attack from Lebanon side, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened a secruity cabinet meeting this morning around 4:00 GMT Today. Statement released by Netanyahu’s office describe that Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has declared a state of emergency across the country for next 48 hours. This special situation on the home front as it is officially termed, grants the IDF Home Front Command expanded authority to impose restrictions on the civilian population.
Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport announced delays and diversions of flights early Sunday due to precautionary measure. Emergency services have also raised their level of readiness assuming large scale attack from Hezbollah.
Unites State Of America has responses after recent tension between Israel and Lebanon and said it would keep supporting Israel’s right to defend itself.
US National Security Council Spokeperson Sevan Savett said “At President Joe Biden’s direction senior US officials have been communicating with their Israeli counterparts. We will keep supporting Israel’s right to defend itself, and we will keep working for regional stability”.
