In a horrible accident, five persons, including a woman fall down to waterfall close to the backwater of Bhushi Dam in Pune’s Lonavala area , on June 30, 2024. Police, Navi drivers and other rescue teams on July 1 resumed the search for other two missing children who along with three other family members got swept away at waterfall in Pune, Maharashtra- officials said.
According to police, after the tragic incident on June 30, the rescue teams had recovered the bodies of a 36-year-old woman and 2 minor girls. Search was on for other 2 missing children name as Adnan Sabhahat Ansari (4 years old) and Mariya Aqil Ansari (9 years old).
An official From Lonavala police station said that the search operation for the two children resumed on Monday morning with the rescue teams of the Vanyajeev Rakshak Maval, Shiv Drug Trekkers Organisation and the Navy drivers.
A video is trending on internet and social media that showed a group of family including who lost their lives, being swept away by the gushing water caused by intense rainfall in the region.
On Sunday, search team recovered the bodies of Umera Adil Ansari (8 yeras old), Amima Adil Ansari (13 years old) and Shahista Liaqat Ansari (36 years old) from the reservoir downstream.
According to report, members of the Ansari family went to see the waterfall close to the Bhushi Dam but were caught unwares when the water flow rose due to intense rain in the area and were swept away.
Thousands of visitors visited this place during Monsoon seasons often warnings from the police and local authorities to avoid unknown areas. More than 50,000 people visited Lonavala on June 30, according to a Police officer.
